Reducing the Demand for Pangolin Products

Duration 1 year

WildAid has been effective at working to reduce demand for illegal wildlife products in China and Vietnam for more than a decade. To protect pangolins, WildAid aims to bring an end to their use in Traditional Medicine practice, as well as raise awareness of the animals’ plight while discouraging broader consumption of their meat and scales even outside of medicinal use. If China ceases manufacture and use of pangolin medicines throughout its hospital networks and recommends alternative ingredients to replace pangolin scales, other practitioners will follow suit and the demand for pangolins in China will markedly decline.
